So Sunday was my dad's 58th birthday. I called to wish him a happy birthday and see how he was doing. He seemed a bit down, but glad I called to wish him happy birthday. My sister called right after I did, and did the same. My brother, being a pretty self-absorbed individual, calls my dad on his birthday, asks for money, and never mentions the fact that it is my dad's birthday. I just told him to call, as he still never noticed dad's birthday had come and gone. If I didn't mind how hurt dad sounded when he told me, I would have laughed and thought, "Man, my brother's stupid". Instead I'm trying to get him to call without tipping off dad that I told him. Dad does a lot for both of us, Matthew needs to remember that.

I havent't slept past 6 a.m. in like three months and I don't know why. It doesn't matter what time I crash, I'm always up between 5:30 and 6:15. Ah well, c'est la vie.

Three weeks ago, I found out that my brother's ex-father-in-law was in jail for something he allegedly did to my 11-year old niece. My brother's ex has been less than forthcoming with information about the nature of the offence, be it violent, sexual or both. I was informed today that man plead guilty to a charge I still have no clue of and was sentenced to 18 years in a federal penetentiary.
What do you have to do to a child to receive 18 years?
Anyone?
